Step away from the hustle of daily life and enjoy some focused, screen-free time with your child in this inspiring 6-week parent and child art course.
Designed to spark creativity, deepen artistic skills, and strengthen your bond, each 90-minute session invites you both to explore a range of techniques and media – all under the expert guidance of professional artist Kate Lindley.
What to Expect
This is more than just an art class – it’s quality time spent creating, learning, and growing together. You and your child will work side by side on a shared journey through the world of still life art, developing new techniques and artistic confidence each week.
Course Breakdown:

Session 1: Master the basics of pencil sketching with an introduction to still life drawing

Session 2: Add colour and definition as you explore still life with watercolour techniques

Session 3: Dive deeper into pencil techniques – shading, blending, texture and depth

Session 4: Learning how to manipulate charcoal sticks to create a variety of effects, from subtle gradations, to bold strokes

Sessions 5 & 6: Choose your own still life subject and medium – a chance to express your unique creative vision and apply everything you’ve learned
Each session is thoughtfully structured to allow both parent and child to work together, collaborate, and enjoy the creative process. Whether you’re new to art or already passionate about it, this course is designed to be accessible, supportive and lots of fun.
